I Said “Yes!” – Now What?
It’s the small day-to-day moments in life that often matter the most. Similarly, it’s the small details that make your wedding unforgettable, but it’s these same details that can cause a lot of stress. And, let’s be honest, wouldn’t you rather spend your pre-wedding days in bliss rather than in total stress as you try to pull your wedding or event together by yourself?
If you want to create a gorgeous fête without having to spend valuable time and energy shopping vendor by vendor, let us step in and save you the time and anxiety…maybe even a breakdown or two. Sunrise Ridge Waterfront Resort offers fully inclusive wedding services for any couples who’d like that extra little bit of help.
On the other hand, if you’re sticking to a tight budget or just really enjoy the creativity that goes into planning and executing your wedding, we’re also happy to take a step back and let you do as much as you wish. Either way, your journey to get there should feel as perfect as your wedding day itself!
For those who’d like the extra help, here are the wedding services we’re able to offer at the resort:
Bartending
If you would like to serve alcohol at your wedding, we work with some very reputable providers in Parksville who can bartend at your event. These service providers are knowledgeable and experienced and are also certified “Serving it Right.” This certification provides the assurance that someone responsible is looking after your wedding guests and takes the worry from you, so you can kick back and enjoy your night.
You may also provide your own bartenders, provided they have the “Serving it Right” certification. You also have the option of offering your guests a cash bar or an open bar, but, as Sunrise Ridge Waterfront Resort is not a licensed venue, you must acquire the appropriate licence.
A “Special Occasion” license can be purchased at any BC Liquor Distribution branch, and in Parksville, this license must be purchased and approved by the RCMP a minimum of 2 weeks (14 days) prior to your event.
Entertainment
Our resort’s staff can arrange entertainment options that will provide you with fantastic service, and, just as important, an extremely large range of music. We have DJ’s that cater to young and old alike. We can even arrange bands or soloists.
Need something other than musical entertainment? Let us help you arrange some fun with a Magician or a Clown, even set up a Poker night. We’ll do our best to provide you with the entertainment of your choice.
Flowers
Have you ever noticed how gorgeous blooms can truly make or break a wedding or event? The team at Sunrise Ridge Waterfront Resort would be pleased to arrange for a perfectly styled bouquet or for floral decorations to embellish your event.

Rentals
Need rentals? We can arrange any rentals you may require through a local Parksville supplier. Our list includes elegant table linens, chair covers, sashes, and much more. Audio Video equipment is also available.

Catering
It is not mandatory to arrange catering through the resort, but our event planner can organize a reputable caterer who will be able to provide you with menu options and pricing for either buffet style or plated meals. There is also an option to “customize” your meal with special requests for items that may not be listed in the standard menus. Catered meals can include canapés for appetizers, entrées with 1, 2 or 3 entrée items, salads, vegetables, and desserts. Contact us for more information.
Cakes
Sunrise Ridge Resort works with an amazing Cake Specialist. Whatever the occasion, this specialist can create a cake that you will remember for a lifetime.
Decorating
Whether you are decorating for a wedding, reception, party, or are looking for something special to go into a guest suite, we would be happy to arrange this for you or offer guidance and assistance so you can have everything looking just the way you envisioned.
If you prefer to add your own personal touch, we can also organize decorations for you to do with as you wish. You may also choose to organize your own décor and/or decorators.
Marriage Commissioners
Choosing the right Commissioner to perform your wedding ceremony is very personal, so rather than choose for you, we’ve put together a list of Wedding Commissioners and Ministers in Parksville and the surrounding Oceanside area for you to contact.

Spa Services
Our staff would be pleased to organize spa services for you at a nearby resort. Whether you need a massage after a long day of meetings, a manicure or pedicure for yourself and your bridal party,or a facial, wrap, or soak in a mineral pool just because, let us arrange for your pampering and relaxation.
Set-Up / Clean-Up
If you need help setting up your ceremony seating or cleaning up after your ceremony or reception, we can provide set-up/take-down service for an additional fee.
No labour charges apply if you wish to set up the seating or do the clean up yourself.
There are also no labour costs for the set-up of tables and chairs in the reception space.
