Parksville enjoys some of the mildest weather in Canada leading some to dub it “The Tropics of Canada”.  Such fine weather leaves ample opportunity to enjoy the many activities the area offers.

Parksville is best known for its virtually endless beaches.  At low tide, a mile of pristine sandy shores is revealed freeing up acres of shoreline to play and relax in.  This is the home of the Canadian Open Sand Sculpting Competition, part of the annual Parksville Beach Festival.  Each year entrants from around the world delight visitors with some truly awe-inspiring sand sculptures.

Kayaking, swimming, sailing, caving, fishing, beachcombing are other favorite activities.  The resort is also surrounded by a myriad of walking paths through rain forest and along the sandy beaches.

There are many golf courses within a few minutes of Sunrise Ridge Resort.  And since this is one of the few places in Canada which is truly green year round you’ll find you never have to put your clubs away.

If you enjoy shopping or dining, you’ll find plenty of unique shops and restaurants to choose.  From The Seafood Store on the docks at French Creek Marina to Triskell’s French Cuisine, we are fortunate to have a number of restaurants and eateries in the area to match every craving.
